Around 85% of energy produced in Zambia comes from hydroelectric which makes Zambia a hydro-based country dependant on 4 large hydro schemes. The country is making a great progress in promoting small scale hydro schemes too. The current installed capacity in Zambia is 2 800 MW. Currently RENFIN develops 4 projects in Northern part of the country.
